Introduction:
We all aspire to achieve our goals and fulfill our dreams. But working towards goals is not easy. Enroute to success you will encounter hurdles, obstacles and rough patches. The down times can get really down and dishearten you. Setbacks and disappointments are an integral part of life there is no escaping them. While you cannot change your circumstances or bypass the hurdles, you can brace yourself up against the difficult times by maintaining a positive frame of mind and being determined to keep going against all odds. When the going gets tough and you are overwhelmed by the rough times, all you need is something to encourage you and keep you going. Words to inspire the winner in you will do exactly that. This collection of author’s original motivational quotes will lift up your spirits, inspire you and put you back on track.

Good/Bad:
Unfortunately, there’s nothing to mention about the writing style of the author, main characters, their description, etc. Simply because this is not a novel. Best said this could be termed as a quick-guide or reckoner on motivational quotes. I was hoping that there would be much more to it, probably something on the lines of Shiv Khera’s “You Can Win” where he nicely cites examples and stories to get the message across. Or even in the case of Dale Carnegie’s “How to win friends and influence people” which is filled with quotes but served in style.  Since this book was all about quotes, it does get monotonous and boring after a certain amount of time. No doubt the quotes are effective but they're only handy when needed, like a medicine to treat an illness; if there’s no illness the medicine is still useful but it can’t show its magic.

  1. It is as usual the most comprehensive book review post as I read on your blog.
'how to win friends...', don't you think it's too much credulous? I mean just like you said if there's no illness, no magic thing applies to Dale's book too (in my opinion)

  2. Thanks for your comment Abhishek. My point is since the book only has quotes there is no other way to read it. In the case of Dale Carnegie, even if you dont want to read it as a self-help book you can read it as a novel.
